My name is Brianna Kristin, I am 18 years old, and I have been a martial artist for almost 13 years. I began Taekwondo when I was about 6 years old and joined Hapkido when I was 13. I received my red-black belt in Hapkido before I decided I was going to Concentrate on just Taekwondo. I got up to my 3rd degree black belt and was on an Olympic sparring team for the last 2 years of my Taekwondo career.
I began cross training at MMAstop when I was 13, where I was learning muay thai and boxing, I started training at MMAstop just to learn a new martial art. I had no intentions of being a fighter, but within a few months, I was convinced that this was what I really wanted to do. I quit Taekwondo and started grappling on top of my muay thai and boxing training. Because I was only 13, I had 5 years to get REALLY good at my striking and ground game. In 2015, I competed in my first muay thai tournament and won a title belt at 14 years old. Every year following that, I competed at the same annual tournament in Iowa as well as competing in local grappling tournaments. At 17, I held 3 national muay thai championship belts at 3 different weight classes. My record is now 5-2, and my MMA record still remains at 0-0, because finding fights at 110 pounds is a challenge.
My coach, Danny Millraney, has known for years that I am serious about becoming a professional fighter, so he set up an appointment for me to meet with George Denos in 2018. George began asking me questions about my current diet and energy levels to see what he could do to create a new meal plan. He was able to plan a diet whether it was to lose or maintain my weight in a healthy manner.
George has been a fantastic Nutrition Coach answering all questions with detailed responses to make sure I’m understanding why I can or can not add a food to my diet. He is always available to text if I am stuck at the grocery store debating if I should buy a product and if it will okay to include to my diet. He always checks up on me and makes sure that I’m feeling energized, and if not, he will adjust my meals to make sure I am feeling my best. As a vegetarian athlete who has to constantly obsess over their weight, George has provided me a proper meal plan making sure that I am getting all the nutrients that I need.
Not only has George been my Nutrition Coach but he has been a ‘life coach’ by making sure I am mentally energized while juggling work, training, and being a full-time college student (also trying to squeeze in a social life). Danny has set me up for a successful fighting career with all of the time he has spent coaching me and teaching me about myself as a fighter. Having Danny as a coach, George as a Nutrition Coach and my dedication to be a professional athlete, I believe that I am going to be unstoppable in my career.
Educated, thoughtful, and passionate are the 3 words that come to mind when I think of George. Being a good friend of his for many years, connected through the fitness community, I've not only learned so much, but gained a best friend. George will go out of his way to help you reach your goals, educate you, and most importantly build a friendship with you. George has studied, and re-studied his passion for health in order to understand all he can, and in the end, provide the best nutrition based on YOUR needs. Through the past years, George has always been a phone call away, and has never failed to provide me a well-educated answer. I can assure you will get more guidance than what you anticipate.
My name is, Adam Hoornaert. I am a Certified Personal Trainer and a Lead baseball Hitting Instructor, so I had a background in health and fitness before we started working together.
I have been working with George
for the past year and a half and I will say that George's program has been very individualized to my personal needs and has made a great impact on my overall energy levels and body composition.
I am very active and work a full time job as well as doing training for the Village of Orland Park part time. I also am involved in coaching baseball as well and have a new family with a 9 month old at home.
So with a hectic schedule and fitting in workouts George's program has been the backbone to make sure my energy levels stay up while still working toward body composition goals. I couldn't be more pleased with the results!
I have never been the type of person who cared much for eating healthy foods appropriately, let alone exercising. It wasn’t until I hit my 30s something happened.... gravity kicked in I guess. It also doesn’t help I sit at a desk all day. I had to start paying attention to the food I ate or didn’t eat... because going to the gym twice a week wasn’t cutting it. Little did I know that it’s not just what you eat, but when you eat it and how much. I had no clue! I thought not eating, or skipping meals was doing me a favor, but I was way off. Everyone’s body is different, but Geo really took the time to examine me and tell me how terrible my eating habits were, he wasn’t afraid to tell me what harm I was doing to my body and what I can do to structure my day and how it could change my life. Now I don’t just eat because everyone else is, my meals now form my day. Geo has taught me to trick my body into working for me and now that it has been about a year and a half, I don’t have to look at the clock anymore to tell myself it’s time to eat. It’s all habit. My body trained its self. It’s all become a natural habit I’ve formed. Eating healthy has made me want to wake up early, get my exercise out of the way and start my day on the right foot. This transformation has lead me to a better me. I feel more confident in myself personally and have so much more energy and the confidence in trying things I would have never imagined me doing. My days have purpose now and I can only thank Geo for that!
